How Do Powerprox® Six-Month Braces Work?
Similar to traditional braces, the Powerprox system uses a combination of brackets and wires to gradually shift the teeth into their proper positions. However, the type of brackets and wires involved are different.
Powerprox brackets tend to be clear or tooth-colored, so they can blend in discreetly with your natural smile. The wire is the start of the show; Powerprox uses Shape Memory, a special type of wire that is engineered to gradually return to its original shape. It can apply the gentle force needed to gradually shift targeted teeth into their proper positions. The process is generally more comfortable than what is expected with traditional braces.
You will visit us periodically throughout your treatment so we can monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. The average total treatment time is 6 months, though that can vary depending on the details of each case.
